Lydia Cornell                Liz and Jean Sagal

Where can I begin this devotional to a pair of females that disappointed the hell out of me. Hmmm. Well, I used to have a passion for twins... that has faded a bit. The passion was for attractive twins... and these girls were that. Cute, sorta sexy, sorta not, but the potential for wondrous fun was there.

From "Double Trouble"I have to be honest.... I liked Liz better than Jean, if only because she played the serious one on "Double Trouble" (TV Series from 1984). I always found her to be quietly sexy in a way the "wild one" was not. But the surprising thing is that in real life Jean was the quiet one and Liz was the feisty one. The producers (and perhaps the twins) decided it would be good for the two to change their traditional roles. It worked for me!

I first noticed the twins in "Grease II" but didn't really care a flip for them at the time. Too many other sexy women in that film to drool over. It was not until they showed up in "Double Trouble" that I really took an interest.

Oh! The potential! A real show with real twins! None of that Patty Duke/Hayley Mills double camera crap. Real twins. Really pretty. I was in heaven.

But the show was lame. There is no other word for it. They tried to take the easy route and do all of the shows about people mixing up the twins and not focusing on two talented girls who could do anything. Oh sure, you had to have shows about people mixing them up... but that does not make for a long running sitcom. Boring.

"Oh!" you say. "But one was serious and one was wild! Twin conflict! What fun you could have with that!"

Nope. Still lame. If there had been twin mud wrestling maybe... but no. Even then, not enough to keep your interest for long. There was just SO much more the Sagal sisters could do but were not allowed to. "Double Trouble" is what it had to be and the producers/studio would not let anything else in.

You might think that these girls should have been the first Olsen twins. Naw. That could not have happened. They were already in their 20's when the show first aired. They do have something in common with the Olsens though... they don't have much on top. Not that that is a bad thing.... but in the 80's big breasts were the rage (and still are... but at least some actresses are making it now without too much on top).

I do still think fondly about the Sagal twins. Don't ask me why. Perhaps it is because I expected more from them. I know that I was majorly disappointed when Liz played a stripper in "Flashdance" but didn't show anything. (Well, what do you expect from me? I do run the "Scenes of Nudity Database" after all.)

I expected at least one of the twins to continue on in the business (in FRONT of the camera). But they didn't. They got dumped by Hollywood big time... really "Left for Dead".

For those of you who need to see a little more of them... and since I can't give you nudes... here are a couple of sweet pictures of them. The first one (surprisingly) is my favorite. What a look! And that hairstyle is still one of my favs!

Stunning aren't they?Sexy!

Sweet!

Where are they now (07/02/08):
Both have given up their acting aspirations. Neither one has robbed a store, shot someone at a crack house, got a boob job and posed for "Spread 'Um! Magazine", or married a 90 year old billionaire just to put his ashes on top of the television.

Jean is married and has a daughter. She is now a writer and technical coordinator in Hollywood.

Liz has been working behind the scenes as a director. In 2002 she a small part in "Following Tildy"

Here is THE website devoted to the twins. Go have some fun! http://www.sagaltwins.com.
